Theodore Roosevelt Public Speaking Contest

The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site is sponsoring a public speaking contest for high school students in grades 9 through 12 who live in Western New York State. 

Using independent research, students are asked examine the life and career of President Roosevelt and write and deliver a 5 minute speech.

Virginia Nursing Scholarships

Residents of the State of Virginia may be eligible for scholarship funds to pay for a nursing education. The Virginia Department of Health, Office of Minority Health and Public Health Policy offer several scholarships.   

Florida Black History Month Art and Essay Contest

Using the theme "Celebrating African-American Leaders in Business — Past, Present and Future", the state of Florida is sponsoring art and essay contests for students in grade K – 12.

Oregon Workers' Memorial Scholarship

The Oregon Workers' Memorial Scholarship is open to a graduating high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student whose parent has suffered a serious job-related injury or death in the workplace.

The award amount varies each year, depending on the number of applicants and other factors, but the majority of recipients receive $1,000.
