The Community Foundation Serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties
In 1941, Charles Brouse established the Community Foundation Serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The Foundation provides funding for scholarships, health and human services, civic benefit programs, arts and culture, and a variety of other causes.
The Altura Credit Union Foundation awards monetary scholarships to Riverside County High School seniors pursuing a college education. The deadline is in March.

- A graduate of a high school in Riverside County
The Bonnie Gail Polis Educational Endowment
- Enrollment in an accredited post-secondary institution
- Expressed intention of pursuing a career in public education (i.e. Teacher, Counselor, School Administrator, etc.)
- A graduate of a high school in the Riverside Unified School District (Arlington, King, North, Poly, Ramona)
The Terry Ferrone Memorial Scholarship
- Enrollment in an accredited post-secondary institution
- A graduate of John W. North or Poly High Schools in Riverside, CA
Riverside Construction Company, Harmon/Lounsbury Scholarship Fund provides college financial assistance to outstanding graduating seniors from Riverside who are pursuing a college education in engineering, particularly in the area of construction or civil engineering. The deadline is in April.
Riverside Construction Company, Harmon/Lounsbury Scholarship Fund provides college financial assistance to 1st year college students who are currently enrolled at California Polytechnic University- Pomona, California Polytechnic University-San Luis Obispo, California State University- Long Beach, California Baptist University, and who are pursuing a college education in engineering, particularly in the area of construction or civil engineering. The deadline is in April.
The Ruth Schroff Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for outstanding African-American or Hispanic/Latino students residing in Riverside or San Bernardino Counties. The deadline is in May.
The Elizabeth C. and Jack B. Clarke, Sr. Scholarship Fund, honors the late councilman and his wife for their service to the Riverside community. Mr. Clarke was the first African-American member of the Riverside City Council. Outstanding graduating seniors from high schools within the City of Riverside are eligible to apply. The scholarship is open to students from all backgrounds. However, preference may be given to African-American students. The deadline is in May.
The Dr. Barnett Grier and Eleanor Jean Grier Scholarship Fund is the legacy to their efforts to ensure equality in education, housing, employment, and opportunity for underrepresented and disadvantaged citizens in Riverside. Outstanding graduating seniors from high schools within the City of Riverside are eligible to apply. The scholarship is open to students from all backgrounds regardless of age, race, religion, gender, sexual preference or national origin. The deadline is in May.
The Pavement Recycling Systems Scholarship Fund in memory of Chuck Harmon, Dick Sprinkel and Gordon Lounsbury at The Community Foundation provides college financial assistance to graduating seniors who are pursuing post-secondary education through approved certified colleges or training institutes. Eligible graduating seniors must be residents of the City of Riverside or its neighboring communities. The deadline is in April.
The Mojave Desert Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors planning to attend any institution of higher learning and have demonstrated a serious interest in or commitment to the environmental issues during the course of his/her high school education. The deadline is in April.
