The San Diego Foundation

The San Diego Foundation is San Diego’s largest community foundation. It is a group of individuals, families, corporations and nonprofit organizations that have banded together to prove that they will be there for all of their communities, to invest in environment, arts and culture, fellow citizens, the next generation.

Arthur H. Goodman Memorial Scholarship - Scholarships are targeted to those individuals graduating from a community college and transferring to a four-year university.

Barrio Logan College Institute (BLCI) College Success Scholarship - The scholarship is open to BLCI seniors who are on track to graduate from high school in the spring and will seek a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in the United States.

Charles & Ardel Hamilton Scholarship - The scholarship is open to graduating seniors from Bonita Vista High School residing in Bonita, CA (zip code 91902) or Chula Vista, CA (zip codes 91910 or 91913) who plan to attend an accredited two-year college or four-year university in the United States.

David C. Sommerville Memorial Scholarship - The scholarship was established by Plumbers & Pipefitters, Local Union 230 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to college bound children and grandchildren of Local Union 230 members.

Dr. Bertha O. Pendleton Scholarship Fund - The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from San Diego Unified School District who are pursuing a career in teaching and plan to attend an accredited two-year college or four-year university in the United States.

Hans H. & Margaret B. Doe Scholarship - The scholarship is open to the biological, adopted or stepchildren of the employees at the Vista Irrigation District. Students may attend a trade/vocational school, two-year college, four-year university or graduate school, including medical and law.

James R. and Geraldine F. Bertelsen Scholarship – The scholarship is open to residents of Carlsbad, CA for a minimum of one full year who are practicing Roman Catholics.

Jonathan Hastings Foster Scholarship - The scholarship is open to graduating seniors from Point Loma High School who will attend an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.

Marvin Arnold & Irene Jaquetta Heye Scholarship - The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors planning to attend California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo or current students who are attending California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo who have declared a major in engineering.
Pacific Beacon Scholarship - The scholarship is open to all active-duty enlisted unaccompanied United States Navy personnel who are residents of Pacific Beacon or Palmer Hall at the time the application is submitted, and; students planning to attend or who are currently attending a four-year university, two-year community college, or licensed trade/vocational school in the United States.

Ray and Mary Bell Memorial Scholarship - The scholarship is open graduating high school seniors from Fallbrook High School in Fallbrook, CA who plan to attend an accredited two-year college or four-year university in the United States.
Rebecca Christine Lenci Thespian Memorial Scholarship - The scholarship is open to graduating seniors from Point Loma High School who plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in theatre, film, or television as a major or minor area of study at an accredited two-year college, four-year university or licensed trade/vocational school in the United States.

Sean Maloy Community Service Scholarship - The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, St. Augustine High School and students residing in Scripps Ranch who plan to attend an accredited two-year college, four-year university or licensed trade/vocational school in the United States.

The Club at Morningside Scholarship - The scholarship is open to employees (full-time or part-time) and children of employees at The Club at Morningside who have been employed for a minimum of two consecutive years on a seasonal or year-round basis.

UCSD Chicano Alumni Scholarship - The ideal candidate for the UCSD Chicano Alumni Scholarship will be able to demonstrate a history of participating in MEChA at UCSD and a demonstrated record of community service activities that promote the cultural, economic, social and educational well being of the Chicano/Latino community.

Virginia & Susan Hawk Scholarship - Aspiring opera and concert singers are one step closer to the Met and Carnegie Hall thanks to the Virginia and Susan Hawk Scholarship. Established many years ago, this fund provides scholarships to young opera and concert singers to further their studies.
