NCTE Promising Young Writers Program
The Promising Young Writers Program sponsored by National Council of Teachers of English is designed to encourage and recognize the talents of eighth-grade students.
Students who are eighth-graders in the present academic school year must be nominated by their teachers.
Eligibility:
National Co-op Scholarship Program
Ten colleges that provide cooperative education for their students are participating in the National CO-OP Scholarship . They are offering 195 scholarships ranging up to $30,000 ($6,000 per year up to 5 years).
To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must apply and be admitted to one of the World Association Advancing Cooperative & Work-Integrated Education (WACE) Partner Institutions listed below.
Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship
The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $7,000 annually to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need.
AFA Teens College Scholarship
The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), a national nonprofit organization, has established a college scholarship to encourage teens to express their thoughts about Alzheimer’s disease and to engage the younger generation in this cause.
Many families are affected by Alzheimer’s disease and teenagers as well are becoming aware of this heartbreaking brain disease from personal experiences in their own families, watching friends and neighbors, or involvement in community service.
DAR National Society Scholarships
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) awards many different scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in one of the following areas: history, political science, economics, government or nursing.
Qualified applicants must be a high school senior and must have a 3.0 GPA (computed on a 4.0 scale), and demonstrate financial need.

Mediacom World Class Scholarship Program
To be eligible for the Mediacom World Class Scholarship Program you must live in one of the communities that is served by Mediacom (they have operations in 21 states). Candidates with excellent academic backgrounds, demonstrated leadership roles and school and community involvement will be the strongest contenders for this scholarship.

SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship
SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, offers SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship for students located anywhere in the world, from high school (pre-university/secondary) through graduate school, who are studying or planning to study optics, photonics or a related field.
2014-2015 ProjectCSGIRLS
ProjectCSGIRLS asks you to use computer science and technology that can help solve an imminent social problem under one of three themes - global health, a safer world, and intelligent technology. They are looking for projects that are powerful in their ability to change and disrupt the present in a positive way.
