Minnesota Association of Townships Scholarships for High School Juniors
Every year the Minnesota Association of Townships offers four $1000 scholarships to high school Juniors in the state of Minnesota. Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2013.
This scholarship program is designed to heighten awareness about Minnesota’s Grassroots Township government system. Every high school in the state is encouraged to participate in this program. To be eligible, a student must be in the 11th grade and attend a Minnesota public, private or parochial school (home schooled students are eligible too).
The application must include an essay of between 450 and 500 words discussing “What is a significant challenge facing township government today and defend your choice.” In addition to the essay, students need to submit a transcript and a letter of recommendation.
