The Promising Young Writers Program sponsored by National Council of Teachers of English is designed to encourage and recognize the talents of eighth-grade students.
 

Students who are eighth-graders in the present academic school year must be nominated by their teachers.
 

Eligibility:

Eighth-grade students in the current academic school year are eligible to be nominated by their schools in the fifty states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Virgin Islands, and American Schools Abroad.
