2016 NPG Photo Scholarship Contest
The NPG Photography Scholarship Contest requires a submission of a photograph of a threatened environmental treasure that you believe is worth protecting, along with an explanation (40-50 words) of how population growth has put this treasure at risk.
The contest is being sponsored by NPG, a national membership organization devoted to population issues.

The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes
The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes honors students between the age of 8 and 18 who have made a significant improvement to people and the planet.
The Barron Prize honors twenty-five winners nationwide. Half of the winners have focused on helping their communities and fellow beings; half have focused on protecting the health and sustainability of the environment.
To nominate a young person, the adult nominator must submit a fully-completed nomination packet and references form
The American Legion Legacy Scholarship
The American Legion Legacy Scholarship is offered to high school seniors and college students whose parents died in active duty in the military after September 11, 2001.
Eligibility:
You must be the child or legally adopted child or a child of a spouse by a prior marriage or dependent child as defined by the United States Armed Services of active duty United States military and National Guard, and military reservists who were federalized and die on active duty on or after September 11, 2001.
Young Native Writers Essay Contest
The Young Native Writers Essay Contest is open to Native American high school students with a relationship with a Native American tribal community.
To enter you must write a researched essay of no more than 1,200 words. The essay should deal with the following topic:
ExxonMobil/LNESC Scholarship
The ExxonMobil/LNESC Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding Hispanic high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree in engineering at U. S. post-secondary institutions.
Eligibility:
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Scholarship
Latino students in the United States who are involved in community service activities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their involvement are eligible for the scholarship. There are no academic requirements in order to be selected.
CHCI scholarships provide recipients with a one time scholarship of:
· $1,000 community college or AA/AS granting institution
· $2,500 4-year academic institution
Little People of America Scholarship
The Little People of America Scholarship for people who have a medically diagnosed form of dwarfism, but it is also available to members of their family (see the preference list below).
