2015 Christopher Reeve Service Award
Each year, the Heart of America Foundation awards a middle or high school student The Christopher Reeve Award. The student must be nominated and must have demonstrated tremendous compassion and caring in service to the community.
The Heart of America Foundation's Christopher Reeve Service Award is presented in honor of actor and activist Christopher Reeve, who was awarded a Heroes of the Heart Award in 2000. Mr. Reeve was recognized with this award based on his courage in overcoming his own physical challenges so that he could advocate on the behalf of others with disabilities. Each year this award is presented to an extraordinary youth who has demonstrated tremendous courage, compassion and caring in serving his or her community.
Eligibility:
- All applicants MUST be nominated for the award.
- Nominators may NOT be a relative of the nominee.
- Nominees must be a current US Citizen or resident to be eligible.
- Nominees must be between the ages of 13-18 years at the time the award is announced.
