The Emerge Scholarship is for women who have not had the opportunity to complete their education and have overcome obstacles. To be eligible you must have contributed to your community. In addition, you must be a resident of the state of Georgia.

Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarships

You must have Type 1 diabetes

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship Program is for high school seniors with Type 1 Diabetes who plan on attending an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. You must be actively involved in the diabetes community, have high academic performance, participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and demonstrate that you are managing the challenges of living with diabetes.

Olive Garden Pasta Tales Essay Writing Contest

National Federation of the Blind Scholarship

The National Federation of the Blind is offering 30 scholarships to blind students who have demonstrated achievement in their lives. There are around 400 applicants annually for the national scholarships worth from $3,000 to $12,000. 

Random House, Inc. Creative Writing Competition

The Random House, Inc. Creative Writing Competition recognizes New York City public high school students for original poetry, memoir, fiction, drama and graphic novel compositions.
 

There are approximately 1300 applicants to this competition. 35 students will win financial awards and there will be 75 honorable mentions.

American Meteorological Society Scholarship

The American Meteorological Society offers two different scholarships for high school seniors interested in studying the atmospheric, oceanic, or hydrologic sciences. One is for minorities (including women and disabled students typically underrepresented in this field), and the other scholarship is for all interested seniors.

Courageous Persuaders

All high school students

The Courageous Persuaders video competition requires you to create 30 second or less commercial targeted at middle school students. Your message should warn them about the dangers of underage drinking.

As early as grade school, kids feel pressure to drink. Each year, more than 10,000 young people, ages 16 to 25, die as a result of alcohol use. 

The goal of the competition is to raise awareness and change attitudes about the dangers of underage drinking among students.
