Cancer Survivor Scholarship

 

California Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program
The American Cancer Society, California Division, Inc. Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program awards stipends of up to $7500 per academic year for educational expenses to college-bound pediatric cancer survivors in need of financial aid.  The deadline is April 23, 2013.

Society of Women Engineers Local Scholarships

Young women who are interested in the science and engineering fields are encouraged to apply for the many scholarships sponsored by local chapters of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

Each section has a different deadline. Also check the guidelines for applying because they vary from one section to the next.

 

Credit Union Scholarship

Credit Unions all over the country are offering high school students scholarships.  Because there are hundreds of credit unions and because their guidelines vary from one to the next here are some of the basics.  Most Credit Union Scholarships are for high school seniors with application deadlines in March.  The number and amount of scholarships vary.  In addition, there are other requirements like membership (it's not hard to do, just open an account), most require it, but not all.  Below is a listing of just of few of the credit unions that offer scholarsh

Oil Can Henry's Essay Scholarship

If you’re a high school senior living in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon and Washington and you have an Oil Can Henry's center nearby, you may be eligible for a $1,000 scholarship.  The company is giving 88 scholarships to students.  Applicants must submit a 400 word essay on "What trust means to me."  The students will be selected based on academic record, leadership, participation in school and community activities and work experience.  The deadline is January 31, 2011.

Minnesota Association of Townships Scholarships for High School Juniors

Every year the Minnesota Association of Townships offers four $1000 scholarships to high school Juniors in the state of Minnesota. Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2013.
