Voice of Democracy Audio Essay

Can you write? Do you have strong opinions about certain subjects?  The Voice of Democracy Program is an audio essay contest for students in grades 9 through 12.  If you are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States and its territories you are eligible to participate.

This year the topic is: “My Vision for America”  You must write and then record (on a CD) your essay of no less than 3 minutes and no longer than 5 minutes and submit it to your local VFW Post.

Judging:

Originality is worth 30 points: Treatment of the theme should show imagination and human interest

Content is worth 35 points: Clearly express your ideas in an organized manner. Fully develop your theme and use transitions to move smoothly from one idea to the other.

Delivery is worth 35 points: Speak in a clear and credible manner.
