The Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship and Shell Incentive Fund Scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors who have expressed an interest in the energy industry and demonstrated an aptitude in mathematics and science.

In each program, Shell will sponsor up to 20 one-year awards of $2,500 for selected graduating high school seniors enrolling in engineering or geosciences at universities identified by Shell.  Upon successful completion of first year studies and other criteria established by Shell, the recipient may be eligible to apply to receive a four-year renewable award of $5,000 annually.

Eligibility:

  • Download, complete and mail the application by the deadline.
  • Plan to enroll full-time in one of the following majors (geology, geophysics, physics, chemical, civil, electrical, geological, geophysical, mechanical or petroleum engineering) at one of the following schools: Colorado School of Mines, Cornell University, Florida A&M University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Louisiana State University - Baton Rouge, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michigan State University, North Carolina A&T University, Ohio State University - Columbus, Pennsylvania State University - University Park, Prairie View A&M University, Purdue University - West Lafayette, Rice University, Stanford University, Texas A&M University - College Station, University of Colorado - Boulder, University of Houston - University Park, University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, University of Oklahoma - Norman, University of Texas - Austin, University of Texas – El Paso.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work on a full-time basis in the United States
