You must be between 14 and 18 years old If you have a commitment to community service and have made a difference in the lives of others, consider Nestlé Very Best In Youth program. They identify students who are working to make their community a better place to live.
Winners will have $1,000 donated in their name to the charity of their choice. They will be flown to Los Angeles, California (along with a parent or guardian) for the Nestlé Very Best In Youth awards ceremony.
To be considered you will need to answer essay questions and submit the following:
1. Two letters of recommendation:
- One must be from someone connected to your school (teacher, counselor, or principal)
- The other can be from anyone who knows you well
2. Copy of your transcript or current report card
3. A parent or legal guardian consent form
Judging:
- strong academic record
- special contribution to school, church or community
- demonstrate good citizenship or
- a personal obstacle the youth has overcome
Eligibility:
- Students between 14 to 18 years of age, who demonstrate good citizenship and a strong academic record.
- Students who are legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (home-schooled students are eligible too).
- Students who have parental or legal guardian permission to apply.
- If you are a U.S. resident living on a U.S. military base overseas you are eligible as long as a parent or guardian is a legal voting resident of one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
- If you are a U.S. resident of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Virgin Islands or another U.S. territory you are eligible as long as a parent or guardian is a legal voting resident of one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
