The Golden Door Scholarship is for immigrant youth who have received DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), who want to obtain a college education and give back to their communities.

Undocumented students can attend college in the United States, however, there are financial obstacles that stand in the way of these students’ path to higher education

Golden Door Scholarship offers recipients who attend partner schools funding to cover tuition (less other scholarships and small family contributions) and room and board for a four-year degree. Scholarship recipients who choose to attend non-partner schools will be funded on a case-by-case basis.

These Golden Door Scholars will also have access to mentors, assistance in pursuing internships and other career-building opportunities. Applicants must be eligible to participate in paid internships.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be eligible for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status)
  • Applicants should be high performers with strong academic records.
  • Applicants from states where DACA students must pay out-of-state tuition at public universities and community colleges will be given strong preference.
