The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties' Scholarship Program

The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties offers over 100 scholarships for students interested in nursing, real estate, farming, technology, healthcare and many other fields.  They have awarded more than $5 million in scholarships and grants since 1983.  Most scholarships are for high school seniors, but some are for adults returning to school, so review them carefully.  The deadline for applying for the scholarships is Febraury 1.  You can create an account here to apply for their scholarships.

John S. Atwater Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior from Lake Worth High School
• Must have participated in the criminal justice program for four years and pursue a career in criminal justice
• Selected by the Scholarship Committee of Lake Worth High School 
• Not based on financial need

Matthew James Audin Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Exemplify academic achievement, involvement in high school activities, leadership, and personal character
• Not based on financial need
• Must attend Jupiter High School
• Selected by the Scholarship Committee of Jupiter High School

Bank of America Minority Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating minority high school senior
• Intends to major in business
• Palm Beach County resident

Laurence E. Barreca Scholarship
CRITERIA:
• Graduating high school senior. 
• Based on GPA of 2.5 or better. 
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident.

Maura and William Benjamin Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Based on scholastic excellence, student who reflects qualities of potential leadership and an inclination toward service to their community
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Thomas William Bennett Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Interested in pursuing a career in education with emphasis on teaching reading skills
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Lisa Bjork Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Student planning career in journalism and communications
• Must submit an essay on "The Importance of the Family" (500-750 words); Two awards presented annually: one to a student at Jupiter High School and one to a student at another public Palm Beach County high school
• Palm Beach County resident
• Not based on financial need

Walter and Adi Blum Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• The Community Foundation will seek qualified applicants that have immigrated to the United States.  Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Gina Auditore Boner Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating female high school senior
• Interested in pursuing a career in advertising/journalism/ marketing /graphic design 
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Milton J. Boone Horticultural Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Also available to adults returning to school for horticultural training
• Interested in pursuing a course of study in the field of Horticulture 
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Harry and Bertha Bronstein Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Special preference given to students who are either handicapped or a member of a minority group
• Martin or Palm Beach Count resident

Allen C. Clark Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• GPA of 2.5 or better
• Must attend Forest Hill High

Irene Gibson Clay Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must pursue a degree in elementary education
• Resident of Belle Glade or South Bay

Frank and Marie Cleary Memorial Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA:
• Graduating high school senior who is a member of St. Mary's Church in Pahokee. 
• Selected by the Scholarship Committee at St. Mary's Church from applications submitted to the Community Foundation.

Julian and Eunice Cohen Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must demonstrating academic excellence; financial need; involvement in extracurricular activities
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Bradley Collins Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Consideration given for extraordinary circumstances; involvement in extracurricular activities
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Colonial Bank Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Eligibility also granted to children of Colonial Bank employees in Palm Beach County
• Major emphasis in a finance related field
• Palm Beach County resident

Community Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Based on a GPA of 2.5 or better, demonstrating financial need
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Christopher N. Coppola Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior;
• Pursue studies in a real estate related discipline (i.e. real estate, construction, architecture, development, urban analysis, appraisal, etc.) 
• Palm Beach County resident

Ingebord Crede Memorial Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA:
• Graduating high school senior in top 15 percent of class.
• Pursuing a career in secondary education in English literature or history. 
• Preference to military family background.

Don Dahlberg Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Active in competitive sports, and has been nominated by the Jupiter High School Committee on Awards
• Must attend Jupiter High School

Terry Darby Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Actively involved in soccer during his or her high school career
• Martin and Palm Beach County resident

Dr. Sidney Davidson Nursing Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• LPN's pursuing an A.S. degree in Nursing at Palm Beach State College 
• Students may attend school on a full-time or part-time basis
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

James H. Davis Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Interested in pursuing a career in horticulture, agriculture or related pursuits 
• Also available to upper division university students and adults in the field (must have graduated from a local high school)
• Students may attend any accredited college/university/vocational school in Florida
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident as well as attending Homestead Senior High School or South Dade Senior High School

Delray Beach Playhouse Ernest G. Simon Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Also open to adults returning to school
• Nominee must be enrolled in a theater educational or training program at a university/college
• Individuals must reside in the general service area of the Playhouse
• The award is not dependent upon financial need

Ellen Beth Eddleman Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must be in the band, choral department or Excalibur, has excelled in academics (3.0 GPA or better), leadership, service and talent (including music, art and literary)
• Financial need is not considered
• Student nominated by John I. Leonard Committee on Awards
• Must attend John I. Leonard High

H. David Faust Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Based on academic excellence and financial need
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Nettie Spiro Finkle Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must have a GPA between 2.5 - 3.5 and have community involvement
• Palm Beach County resident

First Bank and Trust of Indiantown Directors Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• 2.0 GPA or better; community service
• Must be an Indiantown resident and attend South Fork High School

Ernest Frank Scholarship Fund Created In Memory of Arlene Fulton Hammond
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must demonstrate achievement, academic or extracurricular
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Flicker/Freudenberg Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Must be a graduating senior attending a public high school in Martin County
• Must have a minimum SAT (Verbal/Math Combination)/ACT of 1270/28
• Demonstrate financial need
• May attend any accredited university/college in the U.S.
• Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 while in college and maintain full time status at the college or university

Fran Gay Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• This scholarship is open to all individuals seeking an education in any area of healthcare. 
• Recipients must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum (2.5) average
• Palm Beach County resident

The Gratitude Fund
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing
• Also open to health professionals pursuing a degree in nursing and attending school on a part-time or full-time basis
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must attend an accredited college/university/vocational school located in Palm Beach, Martin or St. Lucie Counties
• Martin County or St. Lucie County resident

Gubelmann Family Foundation Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating minority high school senior
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident
• Student must demonstrate that they have faced significant challenges in their life

Robert D. Handley Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Health professionals pursuing a degree in Nursing
• Based on community involvement in the health field and financial need
• Must attend an accredited college university/vocational school located in Palm Beach County.  Must attend school on a full-time basis
• Palm Beach County resident

Andrew (Rudy) Z. Hatfield Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Member of school's baseball team
• Palm Beach County resident

Kathy Heming Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must pursue a degree in nursing
• Palm Beach County resident

Heather and Patrick Henry Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must demonstrate academic achievement, academic potential and financial need
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

J. Peter Hoffman Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must attend a university/college in the State of Florida
• Must live in either northern Palm Beach County (North of West Palm Beach) or southern Martin County

Ray Howland Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Applicant must submit an essay or poster on bicycle safety
• Not based on financial need
• Palm Beach County resident

Frank P. Husvar Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Must pursue a degree in education (preference math or speech pathology), extracurricular activities showing interest in field of study
• Palm Beach County resident

Robert and Deborah Jacobson Scholarship
(Under the auspices of The Robert and Deborah Jacobson Charitable Trust : Thornton M. Henry, Trustee)
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Minimum SAT 2200 – ACT 32
• Top ten percent (10%) of graduating class
• Exhibit leadership potential and a sense of volunteerism
• Essay to include why he or she qualifies under the leadership potential and sense of volunteerism criteria
• Two references from non-family members as to the student’s overall qualifications are required
• Must attend college/university on a full-time basis
• Must maintain a 3.5 average, be in the top 25 percent (25%), continue to volunteer and exhibit leadership qualities in order to continue receiving disbursements past the freshman year

R. Bruce Jones Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Applicant must display academic excellence and be active in extra curricular activities
• Palm Beach County or Clewiston resident

Thomas F. Kearney Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior living in the Western Communities (as defined by areas west of State Road 7, north of Lake Worth Road, south of Northlake Boulevard and east of Twenty Mile Bend.

Danny Knichel Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Displays academic and athletic excellence, and financial need
• Must attend Jupiter High School

Robert P. Koch Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior from Lake Worth High School Criminal Justice Academy
• Has participated in the Criminal Justice Academy for 4 years
• Will pursue an undergraduate degree in criminal justice (covers all subjects-law enforcement, legal, courts, crime scene investigation (forensics), corrections including probation and parole
• Selected by the Lake Worth High School Scholarship Committee
• Student must complete Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties’ scholarship application form.

Ryan Kollmer Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Member of the band
• Must attend Palm Beach Gardens High School 

LSP Educational Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior from Suncoast Community High School
• Minimum GPA/HPA: 3.5/4.5
• Completed a minimum of 150 hours of community service through nonprofit organizations while in high school and complete 50 hours per year throughout the duration of their undergraduate degree to qualify for renewal.
• Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA throughout the duration of their undergraduate degree
• Maintain full-time status at a four-year accredited college or university

George and Arlene F. Lepeska Scholarship
CRITERIA:
• Graduating high school senior from Palm Beach County.
• Must exhibit academic excellence and strong extra-curricular activities.

Stefanie Liberti Memorial Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior from Lake Worth High School
• Must have participated in the criminal justice program for four years and pursue a career in criminal justice
• Selected by the Scholarship Committee of Lake Worth High School 
• Not based on financial need

Loblolly Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Demonstrate financial need and be in the top 25% of the graduating class.  Students in the second quartile of the class are also eligible if they possess an outstanding extracurricular record or if they were required to work during high school to help support their families.  Participation in school athletics and meaningful community service is a plus
• Martin County resident

Inez Peppers Lovett and Charlie Lovett Ellington Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating Female African-American high school senior
• Pursuing a career in elementary education

Eva W. Mack, First Black Mayor of West Palm Beach Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior who is an active member of the West Palm Beach Tabernacle Baptist Church and who exhibits leadership ability with an inclination toward health and community service

Mickey Mandelblatt Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior of a Boca Raton public or private high school (Spanish River, Boca Raton, St. Andrews, Pope John Paul II, Olympic Heights, and West Boca Raton High)
• GPA of 3.0 (weighted) 
• Student must demonstrate that they have faced significant challenges in their life

Nicholas Megrath Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Member of the Environmental Academy at Forest Hill High for four years
• Demonstration of stewardship for the environment; involvement in extracurricular Academy activities, Science Fair and/or Envirothon; completion of 6 to 8 credits in the sciences with at least a 3.0 GPA

Adele Wells Meyer Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Student must have an overall 2.5 or higher average
• Palm Beach County resident

CRITERIA:
• Graduating high school senior from Dreyfoos School of the Arts.

Palm Beach Kennel Club Scholarship

• Available to employees or children/grandchildren of employees of the Palm Beach Kennel Club
• Employees must be graduating high school seniors
• Parent/grandparent must have at least one (1) year of continuous corporate service before the application deadline 
• Must be a Florida resident as well as a U.S. citizen and attend an accredited Florida college or university

Palm Beach Newspapers Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Maintained a 2.50 average or better; based on community involvement

The Reuter Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Interested in pursuing a career in engineering, science or technology
• Based on student's overall performance as to academic ability and standing, extracurricular activities, success in dealing with life's challenges in individual circumstances and financial need
• Preference given to a graduating senior attending a public high school in western Palm Beach County (west of 20 mile bend)

Lawrence A. Sanders Scholarship Fund for Creative Writing

• Graduating high school senior
• Interested in pursuing a career in creative writing

Kim Love Sartory Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating female high school senior
• Interested in pursuing a degree in banking and/or finance

Theodore Satter Memorial Scholarship

• Graduating high school senior
• Majoring in the field of business, banking, or finance 
• Martin or Palm Beach County resident

Leah G. Schad Memorial Scholarship Fund
CRITERIA:
• Graduating high school senior in the Academy of Environmental Science and Technology at Forest Hill Community High School.
• Must be in Academy for a minimum of three years. 
• Demonstrate stewardship for the environment. 
• Outstanding academic performance. 
• Involvement in extracurricular Academy activities, Science Fair and/or Envirothon. 
• Completion of six to eight credits in the sciences.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Kyle Fredrik Schuemann Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior attending a Palm Beach County public high school located north of Northlake Boulevard
• Preference given to students attending Palm Beach Gardens High School as well as students attending the University of Florida 
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or better
• Must pursue a degree in sports management, athletic training, recreation or closely related field

Claire B. Schultz Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Special preference to handicapped or minority students

Pundit Mulchand and Janki Devi Sharma Scholarship

St. Mary's Extended Education
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior or adult returning to school
• Must be a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church and resident of Pahokee

Robert Glen Stern Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior attending a public or private high school in Palm Beach County
• Student must demonstrate that they have faced challenges in their life
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• U.S. citizen or submit proof of alien registration

Ann E. Stewart Memorial Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating high school senior
• Demonstrated an interest in music by participating in the school band or chorus
• Must attend Forest Hill High School

Sunburst Foundation Community Scholarship
CRITERIA: 
• Graduating minority senior attending a public or independent high school in Palm Beach or Martin Counties
• Students graduating from Atlantic Community High School, Boca Raton Community High School, Boynton Beach Community High School, Lake Worth Community High School, Olympic Heights Community High School, Spanish River Community High School, and West Boca Raton High School should apply directly to the Sunburst Foundation by contacting their guidance counselors for an application
• Students from all other high schools should apply at the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties’ web site
• Major in the physical sciences defined as all engineering majors, computer sciences, chemistry, physics, biology, botany, mathematics, oceanography, geology, pre-dental, pre-medical, pre-veterinary, nursing, astronomy, ecological sciences, pharmacy, or zoological studies
