Will County Center for Community Concerns Scholarships

The Will County Center for Community Concerns offers scholarships to income-eligible residents of Will County, Illinois. The scholarships are awarded to low-income and disadvantaged students of high academic achievement or potential. Students must be enrolled or enrolling in an accredited institute of higher education in the state of Illinois.
Scholarship funding is provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.  The deadline for application is February 4, 2013.

 

GEAR UP Scholarships

The GEAR UP program provides grants to local governments, some of the funds are also used to provide college scholarships to low-income students.  The program is a Federal discretionary grant program whose purpose is to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.  GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) serves students beginning no later than the seventh grade and follows them through high school.
