Every year the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans awards 105 $20,000 scholarships to high school seniors who have faced and overcome great obstacles.  They seek students who have a commitment to use their college degrees in service to others.  

Horatio Alger was an American author who wrote stories showing how poor, underprivileged boys could achieve the American Dream of wealth through hard work and dedication to others.

National Scholars receive an all expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference.
